The Week in Cool 11-9-08

Autumn is such a wonderful time of year! The falling temperatures, the leaves changing color, the shift from summer to winter clothes. I can finally order hot cocoa and not be looked at like a frickin’ lunatic. I’m lovin’ it, like a cheesy McDonald’s ad campaign.

November has particularly gotten off to a good start. I’ve been working on new projects, got some things in the pipeline, and I’m finally gaining some semblance of stability. The past week has been an historic one, as you all should know. So for me, it’s been gratifying on both a large and small scale. Here’s what went down and what was cool this past week:

My President is Black!! Obama To Be Next President

People are screaming in the streets. Tweets and Facebook statuses are being updated. People are exhilarated. People are shocked. Young Jeezy is being pumped. History has been made. With 297 electoral votes, Barack Obama will defeat John McCain to be the next President of the United States.

As news broke, supporters cried and cheered, “Yes, we can.”

Obama will become the first African-American to win the presidency.

GOP: “Fuck This Shit, It’s Over!”

CNN correspondent Tara Wall says the GOP knows it’s all over. According to a “GOP insider,” Ohio was the nail in the coffin.

Sarah Palin’s Emails

Is it just me, or does the farce known as the Republican ticket to the White House get funnier and funnier each day? My favorite white people, the folks over at Gawker, reported a few days ago that Sarah Palin’s personal email address had been hax0r3d. It looks like the work of Anonymous, a group of “fun-loving Internet trouble-makers based loosely around the message board 4Chan.” Before I go on, let me state that I truly believe that Anonymous and the guys at 4Chan are awesome. They’ve provided us with many of the internet’s most hilarious and memorable memes.

So, anyhoo, it seems the sexy Tina Fey-a-like may be in a bit of hot water for using her one of her personal, unarchived emails — namely, gov.sarah@yahoo.com — instead of her official government account to conduct state business. Yeah, nothing shady about that. While government officials are attempting to reclaim files and communications sent through that Yahoo account, Anonymous may have been the ones to access another of Sarah’s email accounts: gov.palin@yahoo.com. ZOMG!

Bristol Palin’s REAL Baby Daddy

Maury, we may need your help with this one.

There’s a young brother by the name of Kevin who’s gone on the YouTube and uploaded a video in which he claims to be the real father of Bristol Palin’s baby. That’s right — he be dat baby’s pappy!

Kevin, a Los Angeles native, says he met Bristol while he was in Wasilla, Alaska, visiting his uncle, who was there working on the pipeline. Kevin says he and Bristol became “really good friends” and started “dating on-and-off.” He proceeded to knock her up before returning to school in California, and hasn’t seen her since!
