ScriptGirl Report 12-5-08

Some of us stayed on holiday longer than others, which explains my tardiness in getting the latest report up.

The Week in Cool 11-2-08

Though I promised more, I still gave less this week. For that, I apologize. It’s been insane, just like the Huck Gee Dunny (see right). So much has been happening for me recently, I’ve been neglecting y’all. But the stuff I did post about:

Halloween was fucked for me, so there are no pics, even though I did wear my costume all day. Ah well. Feeling good since I’ve started my NaNoWriMo project and I’m still working on the latest script, which I’ve been procrastinating on. Shout out to the W!ldbrain crew, oh, and make sure you get your asses out and vote, motherfuckers! Holler!

Oh yeah, Twitter is cool!

ScriptGirl Report 10-31-08

This week’s ScriptGirl Report is Halloween-themed, and though Halloween is now over, one can still appreciate what Team SG has put together here.

SG‘s get-up was inspired by Ghostbusters, and I’m loving the bit they did at the end. If they do move forward with that horrible threequel/remake idea, the producers would certainly earn my goodwill should they cast SG in the Sigourney Weaver role. The Week in Cool 10.26.08

Yeah, I need to blog more. Trust, that will happen soon. But in the meantime, what did I deem worthy to post about this week?

Thanks to everyone who keeps coming by to check me out. And I’m surprised that “Harley Quinn” has suddenly become a major source of interest. Did I miss something? Help me out, people! Don’t forget, I’m also on the Twitter now! Tee hee!

ScriptGirl Report 10.24.08

Okay, please reference this post to understand why I’m just now posting this. I need to lay off the alcohol for a minute, don’t you agree?? And even worse, I’ve not done too much writing lately. My writing schedule has totally been thrown off, and while I should be on the second draft of my current script, I’m only halfway through the first draft. Shame. Shame on me.

Anyhoo, please check ScriptGirl‘s latest report, with the latest in script sales. This is, quite honestly, the best way to get this info. :) Video after the jump.

Monkey Business: Frustration With Writing Assignments, Part 1

I’ve always loved writing for a variety of reasons. It’s a wholly creative endeavor, one in which I am able to create characters, the worlds they inhabit, and the events they experience. Call it a God complex if you like, but I’ve always enjoyed that sense of creation and control. Because I can see everything so clearly in my mind’s eye, and also because I love movies so much, I figured that screenwriting would be the perfect medium to make use of my talents.

When I was younger, I had dreams of following in the footsteps of Black or Eszterhas, selling spec scripts for upwards of $3 million. In college, I bragged that I was going to become the Puff Daddy of Hollywood — whatever that meant — and take over the game. I almost came close once, actually. But then again, who hasn’t “almost come close,” right? Now that I’m older and wiser, however, I’ve come to accept that I may not sell that million dollar spec. It’s not going to stop me from trying, but now my focus is more on honing my craft and writing so well that I’m offered assignments. So far, so … well … just so.
