I Was Nominated For The Versatile Blogger Award

The Versatile Blogger Award

Yesterday, I was nominated for The Versatile Blogger Award. The nomination came from a fellow author, the lovely Eveli Acosta, who named me amongst 15 other super-talented, super-cool bloggers. Be sure to check out Eveli’s site, where you can check out her work and find links to order her books.

As a Versatile Blogger Award nominee, there are a few rules I must abide by, rules that I shall now share with you, Dear Readers. They are:

  1. Create a post for the Versatile Blogger Award. (Hey, whaddaya think you’re reading now?)
  2. In the same post, thank the blogger who gave you the award and put a link back to their blog. (Please see above!)
  3. Nominate 15 other people for this award and let them know. (I shall do this posthaste!)
  4. Post seven random things about yourself. (I am not looking forward to this.)
  5. Include these rules in your post. (And here we are.)

I guess I’ll post seven random things about myself first, then I’ll follow up with my nominations for The Versatile Blogger Award. Ready? Okay!

Ratchet: Kia Shine featuring Yung Joc – “Club Walmart”

Now this is the dumb shit I’m taking about.

Kia Shine, a Memphis rapper and songwriter of dubious talent, actually recorded, released, and was serious about an unbelievably bad song entitled “Club Walmart” featuring Bad Boy refugee Yung Joc. I think the song is already a year old, but since I listen to good music (like Rebecca Black) I was not privy to its existence.

The hilariously awful song finds our narrators going to the discount retail giant not for underwear or groceries or cheap DVDs but for the express purpose of finding “hot” chicks with whom they can score.

Let me repeat that again for ultimate clarity and resonance: They went to Walmart to find “hot” chicks with whom they can score. Um, sir …

Holiday Sneer: Thanksgiving Edition

Jive turkeySo I was surprised to check my inbox and see that a few of you actually missed me. Yeah, yeah, I haven’t blogged in a while. But it was Thanksgiving! Everyone deserves a holiday, no? A little rest and relaxation?

Though to be real, there wasn’t much rest and relaxation at all. I went home to surprise family and friends, but I didn’t get a chance to spend time with any of them as my mother’s house was burglarized the night I arrived. So I pretty much spent all my time with her, which is not a bad thing, but it prevented me from spending time with my other family and friends. Ah well.

Team Liquor: The Bomb Bloody Mary

Those that know and love me know that recently I’ve taken up with that classic alcoholic beverage known as the Bloody Mary. While I’d always liked the Bloody, it was never a major component of my repertoire until a few months back when, on a flight to Miami, I had a few on the aeroplane. The one I had on the plane was the bootleg version — vodka and tomato juice, viola! It got the job done.

However, being a massive proponent of brunch culture, as I began ordering Bloodys instead of mimosas on Sunday (and sometimes Saturday) mornings with my omelets, I realized that there was much more to the beverage then I’d originally thought. It was just my lucky (inside joke, not a typo) that two weeks ago on my birthday, I found a recipe for the bomb Bloody Mary on Lifehacker. And so I finally enjoyed the bomb Bloody for the first time this past Sunday. Why’d I wait two weeks to enjoy the bomb? Well you’ll just have to hit the jump to find out, now won’t you?

ScriptGirl Report 9-12-08

I think I’m going to become a rock star. That way, it’ll be that much easier to pitch my screenplay to a Hollywood exec. *sigh* The life of the charmed, I tell ya.

Our favorite industry insider, SG, is back with more script sale goodness. As usual, the interludes are top notch. Please forgive if I’m not as eloquent in this post, but I’m currently watching the Ocean’s Eleven trilogy while sipping on Georgi and Tropicana. I swear, Georgi must be the cheapest vodka I’ve ingested since Popov back in ’99. Yeah, I’m looking at you, W-I-Z.

Click the jump to see who’s sold scripts while you haven’t.
