Hancock: I Am Asshole

One of the major curiosities of this summer’s movie slate has been is-he-or-isn’t-he-a-Scientologist Will Smith‘s latest vehicle Hancock. Ruben Studdard, the second season American Idol winner who apologized for fucking up the entire year of 2004, tied the knot yesterday to a beautiful autograph-seeking fan he followed into a Wal-Mart toy aisle almost two years ago. Continue reading

AC Person of the Week: Nikki G

I recently had the good fortune to meet Nikki G, a very intelligent and talented young woman who’s making waves in the world of fashion photography. A former model and fashion wholesale rep, Nikki mixes insider knowledge of the fashion industry with a keen sense of style and creativity.

What I found fascinating about Nikki G is the fact that she initially had no formal education or training in photography. As she told me, she simply picked her camera up, taught herself about lenses and lighting, and did the damn thing. She also has a strong passion for filmmaking, and cinematic influences can definitely be seen in a lot of her work.

While she is known mostly for her work in fashion and beauty, notably with plus size models and with esteemed agencies such as Ford, Nikki G will be soon branching out into intimate portraits and band photography. For more information, be sure to check out her website.
