Vote for Kelly Josephs in Yoga Journal’s Talent Search

Vote for Kelly Josephs in Yoga Journal's Talent Search

Hello, Dear Readers, I need a favor. Please take a moment out of your day to vote for my good friend Kelly Jospehs in Yoga Journal‘s Talent Search. The top 5 winners will receive a $250 gift certificate to Athleta and be given a chance to be featured in Yoga Journal magazine.

“Yoga is my sanctuary for restoration, retreat, and risk-taking,” says Kelly, who’s been practicing Vinyasa for six years. “It forces me to narrow my focus while simultaneously expanding my horizon of possibilities. For work I spend most of my time ‘in my head’ but on my mat I can quiet my mind and let my body think.”

I Was Nominated For The Versatile Blogger Award

The Versatile Blogger Award

Yesterday, I was nominated for The Versatile Blogger Award. The nomination came from a fellow author, the lovely Eveli Acosta, who named me amongst 15 other super-talented, super-cool bloggers. Be sure to check out Eveli’s site, where you can check out her work and find links to order her books.

As a Versatile Blogger Award nominee, there are a few rules I must abide by, rules that I shall now share with you, Dear Readers. They are:

  1. Create a post for the Versatile Blogger Award. (Hey, whaddaya think you’re reading now?)
  2. In the same post, thank the blogger who gave you the award and put a link back to their blog. (Please see above!)
  3. Nominate 15 other people for this award and let them know. (I shall do this posthaste!)
  4. Post seven random things about yourself. (I am not looking forward to this.)
  5. Include these rules in your post. (And here we are.)

I guess I’ll post seven random things about myself first, then I’ll follow up with my nominations for The Versatile Blogger Award. Ready? Okay!

New Music: The Vagabonds — Good Neighbors (FREE DOWNLOAD)

New Music: The Vagabonds — "Good Neighbors" (FREE DOWNLOAD)

You should probably already know this, but for the past year or so I’ve been working with Miami hip-hop act The Vagabonds. The rap duo of E.R. and Baysiqly put out several successful projects in 2010, including their debut mixtape V For Vendetta and singles “Space Music,” “Success,” and “Work It Out.” Their buzz has grown exponentially over the past few months and the group has been featured on such notable music blogs as Kevin Nottingham, DJ Booth, Antisteez, Ashy Knuckles, and 305 Hip-Hop, just to name a few.

Yesterday, The Vagabonds dropped their highly anticipated new release, Good Neighbors, an album full of collaborations with some of Miami’s hip-hop luminaries. From their press release:

The 15-track album features appearances by Ryan K, Dynas, Alex Walker, Len Xiang, Kobie Powell (of US3/Cantaloop fame), Protoman, Dashius Clay, Saheed, Garcia, LMS, The MC Faceman, Jay Fingers and GhostWridah. The majority of Good Neighbors was produced by E.R., with assists from Miami Beat Wave and High Guyz Productions.

The album’s concept was inspired by the Baysiqly solo track “Good Neighbors” found on V For Vendetta.

Here’s a behind the scenes clip, courtesy of

Can I just say how excited I am about Good Neighbors? I honestly believe this is The Vagabonds’ best work to date, and I’m extremely proud of my brothers. Take a moment to check it out—I’m sure you’ll agree that it’s dope.

Nominate @JayFingers To Be The First MTV TJ! #zyncmtvtj

Nominate @JayFingers To Be The First MTV TJPlease indulge a little shameless self-promotion here.

MTV has partnered with American Express ZYNC to find what they’re calling a Twitter Jockey (aka “TJ”), a person that would serve as “the social voice of MTV.”

The Twitter Jockey will actively engage with MTV’s audience—that’s you, dear readers—by answering your questions, being an advocate for your interests, and sharing behind-the-scenes info, cool links & exclusive media across, Twitter, Facebook, blogs, & even some TV segments. MTV General Manager Stephen Friedman says the TJ position is “a natural evolution of how we connect with our audience.”

As the social voice of MTV, the TJ will be the liaison between you, my friends, and all the MTV celebrities, producers, and employees. Naturally, I think that voice should be me. And this is where you come in, dear readers.

Cassie’s New Haircut

52818951I know I haven’t posted in a while, but if anyone can get me to blog on a rainy Saturday morning, it’s the lovely Cassie Ventura.

Cassie decided to shave a good portion of her hair last night, going for a punk inspired look. As she stated on her Twitter page, Cassie wanted to do “[s]omething that displays the ‘I don’t give a fuck’ attitude that was always present, but never showcased.”

ScriptGirl Report 3-20-09

So ScriptGirl took a week off and then I took a week off (sorry!) so now we’re back on track with the video reports. Not much excitement in the world of script sales this week, just a couple of adaptations and rehashes. We do, however, learn a bit more about SG‘s past and her inital entry into “this biz of show.”

My, this video is deliciously random. And, treat of treats, we finally get a glimpse at SG‘s legs and discover why we’ve never seen them before. Discover the truth after the jump.

ScriptGirl Report 2-27-09

Happy Birthday ScriptGirl!!You know it’s going to be a great report when ScriptGirl starts off the video flashing that winning smile of hers. This week, she talks to Geoff LaTulippe, who’s sold two spec scripts recently, with both sales having been reported by SG. LaTulippe, whom ScriptGirl dubs her favorite screenwriter, certainly serves as inspiration for those of us who wish to sell a screenplay so that we, too, may be featured in a future ScriptGirl video.

Find out what new projects Hollywood has purchased and plan to Mumbai-ify after the jump.
